Team

Women of the Wohl is run by a passionate team of PhD students and researchers. We are a small but mighty team: working hard behind the scenes to plan engaging events, campaigns and initiatives that maintain the discussion momentum on inequality in STEM and push for meaningful action and change. Every discussion counts when it comes to changing research culture. We also make every effort to regularly collect and listen to feedback from our community to make sure your network is running activities and events that matter to you!

Want to join us?

We are always looking for new people to join our small organising committee! Whether you are staff or student, and no matter how much time you are able to volunteer, we welcome your support and involvement (all genders welcome!) We understand that studying and working in research is stressful and time-consuming, so there is no minimum required time commitment in order to be a part of what we do. Our committee usually meets online around once a month, or more frequently if we have larger projects ongoing. Whatever your skills, and whether you want to get stuck into organising a project with us or just be an extra pair of hands we can count on to put up posters or help to set up at events – there’s always room at the table! We are a friendly and supportive team with an emphasis on making sure everyone’s ideas and feedback are heard in our organisation meetings, working as a team to make projects happen, and celebrating our successes together. If you like the sound of what we do, and think you might want be a part (however small) of our team, why not join our next meeting to meet our friendly committee and have a taster of what we do? Want to collaborate with us?

We’re a friendly and approachable bunch and always keen to collaborate, share what we have learned running our network, amplify other causes, make fresh ideas happen or listen to constructive feedback, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with us! Get in touch: womenofthewohl@kcl.ac.uk

Interested in sponsoring our network?

We believe that women and underrepresented researchers should be recognised and compensated for their time and energy contributed to advancing equality in STEM, which is often expected to be done for free at the expense of their research time. We are always open to potential sponsorship, which is primarily used to compensate our event speakers for their time, but also to maintain ongoing costs such as running our website, printing materials or to fund future projects & events. If you would like to discuss how you or your organisation could support our network, please get in touch: womenofthewohl@kcl.ac.uk .
